Relieve Pain and Save Your Tooth

Expert Care for Infected or Damaged Teeth

At Radiance Family Dentistry, we understand how distressing tooth pain can be. A root canal is a highly effective treatment that eliminates infection, relieves discomfort, and saves your natural tooth from extraction. Our root canal procedure is designed to be comfortable, efficient, and successful using modern techniques and advanced care.

What is a Root Canal?

A root canal is a procedure that treats infection or damage in the pulp, the soft tissue inside your tooth. During the treatment, the infected tissue is removed, the inside of the tooth is cleaned and disinfected, and the space is sealed to prevent future issues.

When Do You Need a Root Canal?

You may need a root canal if you’re experiencing:

  • Persistent tooth pain or sensitivity.
  • Swelling around the affected tooth.
  • Darkening or discoloration of the tooth.
  • Gum tenderness or abscesses.

The infection can spread if left untreated, leading to complications and potential tooth loss.

Common Questions We Hear

A root canal procedure removes infected or damaged pulp from inside your tooth, cleans and seals the space, and often restores the tooth with a crown. It’s an effective way to relieve pain and save your natural tooth.

Most root canals take 60-90 minutes to complete, though a follow-up visit may be required for more complex cases or additional restoration work.

The root canal cost varies based on the tooth’s location and the complexity of the procedure. We’ll provide a detailed estimate and help you understand your root canal cost with insurance coverage.

  • Evaluation and X-Rays: We’ll assess your tooth and take X-rays to determine the extent of the infection.
  • Numbing the Area: Local anesthesia ensures the procedure is painless.
  • Cleaning and Sealing: The infected pulp is removed, and the inside of the tooth is thoroughly cleaned and sealed.
  • Final Restoration: Often, a dental crown is placed to restore the tooth’s strength and function.
